4. Analysis tools and advertising

Matomo (former Piwik)

5. Newsletter

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on this website, we require an email address from you, as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the provided email address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. You may voluntarily provide additional information such as your title, first name, and last name; we use this information solely to personalize the newsletter content.

Registration takes place using the so-called double opt-in procedure: After submitting the form, you will receive an email containing a confirmation link. To send our newsletter, we use the service Mailtrap, provided by Railsware Products Studio LLC, 117 E Colorado Blvd, Suite 600, Pasadena, CA 91105, USA. Your email address and the other data you provide are transmitted to Mailtrap and processed there for the purpose of sending and evaluating the newsletter. Mailtrap does not pass your data on to third parties and does not use it for its own purposes.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Mailtrap that includes the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. The transfer to the USA is additionally based on the European Commission's adequacy decision regarding the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; Railsware Products Studio LLC is certified as a participating company.

Please note that in the event of a transfer to the USA, it cannot be ruled out that US authorities may access the data for control and monitoring purposes, and that you may not have any effective legal remedies against this.

Statistical Collection and Analysis

Our newsletters contain a so-called tracking pixel: a one-pixel image file that is retrieved from our server, or from our sending service provider's server, when the e-mail is opened. This records whether and when a message was opened.

In addition, the links in our newsletters are set up so that they first lead to a server operated by our sending service provider, which then redirects to the actual destination. This records whether and when a link was clicked. You can recognise these links by the fact that they point to the address mt-link.fftd.net.

In both measurements, our sending service provider processes information that can be attributed to your e-mail address; this may include your IP address and details of the e-mail program you use. We ourselves use the analysis exclusively in aggregated form, in order to recognise which topics interest our recipients and to tailor the newsletter accordingly.

This analysis is carried out on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may object at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. You can also prevent the open-rate measurement by configuring your e-mail program not to load images automatically; you can avoid the click measurement by visiting the relevant pages directly via www.fftd.net instead of using the links in the newsletter.

6. Adobe Fonts

This website uses web fonts provided by Adobe Fonts (formerly Typekit) in order to display certain typefaces consistently. The provider is Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited, 4-6 Riverwalk, Citywest Business Campus, Dublin 24, Ireland.

When you open a page, your browser loads the required fonts directly from Adobe's servers so that they can be displayed correctly. This establishes a connection to Adobe and transmits your IP address to Adobe. Adobe also collects information about which fonts are requested and how often. No cookies are set; no information is stored on or read from your device.

We use Adobe Fonts in the interest of a consistent and appealing presentation of our website. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
