Tevfik Başer launched the beginnings of German-Turkish cinema in Germany in the late 1980s and 1990s as a young director in Hamburg with his bold feature films. With his debut work 40m2, he created an international sensation from Cannes to Locarno. Farewell to False Paradise and Farewell Stranger followed the same path, portraying German society from the perspective of migrants. The Turkey-Germany Film Festival is delighted to welcome the founder of German-Turkish cinema in Germany as the Jury President of the short film competition in Nuremberg.

Additional jury members will be announced in January.
